Event description

Pembroke warmly invites you to attend a Growth and Development Family Evening on Wednesday 28 February. This session is conducted by Kidz Biz Education and is designed to be fun, informative, and easy to understand. This highly interactive session will provide students and their parents/caregivers with an introduction to basic personal and social development education; traditionally known as the ‘facts of life’. The sessions will be facilitated in a manner that is not awkward or threatening.

Session 1: Year 4 and 5 students and parents

Time: 6.00 pm – 6.40 pm

Location: DY Hall, Senior School Campus, 18 Holden St, Kensington Park

Presentation: Where did we come from?

  • Name and discuss basic female & male body parts of the reproductive system.
  • Disperse myths about where babies come from.
  • Discuss egg & sperm cells, sexual intercourse (age-appropriate), fertilization/conception.
  • Discuss the 9 months of foetal development.
  • Explain natural and caesarean birth processes.
