~ GRUMBLISM ~
Event description
Hello Bodies!
I invite you to GRUMBLISM - A performance, party n' portal.
I am a Betty Grumble and I am a the wish, critter and friend of performance being Emma Maye. I will be conducting the evening devoted to performance, dance floor n' collective throb.
We meet 8.00PM - 1AM at The Red Rattler Theatre on Gadigal Country.
This is a casting of energies to bring our bodies together in presence, possibility, pleasure, poetry and protest.
**OUR ARTISTS**
DJS - HOT FLUSH // STEREOGAMOUS // ANNABELLE GASPAR
PERFORMANCES - FETU TAKU - IMBI - PHASMAHAMMER (JUSTIN SHOULDER) N' GRUMBLE HERSELF
This is not a sit down cabaret, although there will be places to sit. We will dance and performances will erupt throughout the evening.
Ticket sales will go to paying all of the artists, tech and venue hire plus raising the final funds to see a new Candy Royalle mural erected at Addison Rd Community Centre on a public facing wall. If you would like to donate directly to this the link is here:

As the clock strikes midnight it will also be my birthday. This is how I would like to be in this marker. Together in the envelope of deep sonic medicine, storytelling, movement and meaning making.
We meet on Aboriginal Land. I pay my respects to Gadigal Country and Elders of this Country and any First Nations People who will join us. In the music and performances are the stories and cultures of people caring for community, legacy and culture.
I pay my respects to this practice as it exists across culture and to the First Nations people who lead and love this way globally. I pay my respects to radical queers who have made space for us to gather this way.
Angela Davis says '...radical simply means to grasp something by the root.' It is this collective root system and embodied conversation that continues to give me energy to meet this world.
It is my intention to meet you this way so we can go out stronger and softer into the world and show up in the ways we are being asked to, ongoing.
~Thank You Body~
(The Red Rattler Theatre is wheelchair accessible with an access toilet. There will be an upstairs space available for quieter times. If you have any questions regarding access, please send me a message. The Red Rattler is a powerful space that holds potent memories, we are fortunate to gather there. Tip your bar staff and bless security and venue management for granting us safe AND groovy passage.)
