About the Speakers
Dr Alan Ma, Clinical Geneticist
Dr Alan Ma is a clinical geneticist at the Children's Hospital Westmead, Sydney NSW, Australia. He holds a PhD in genomics and has a research interest in implementing genomics into healthcare. He is a senior lecturer with the Specialty of Genomic Medicine and program director of the postgraduate Masters of Genomics and Precision Medicine.
Maya Pinn, Parent Speaker
Maya is a parent of a child with a rare genetic condition, Iqsec2 Associated Disorder — a syndrome without a name. She is the founder of RareWear, a brand creating adaptive clothing for children, and serves as an Administration Officer for SWAN Australia. Named the 2024 Young Citizen of the Year for the City of Casey, Maya is a passionate advocate and volunteer, committed to inclusion, research, and systems change.

The webinar will be recorded, giving you the flexibility to watch live or at your convenience.
