Looking for practical ways to better protect your livestock and reduce losses on your property? Livestock guardian dogs (LGDs) are a proven tool that can play a key role in protecting stock from predators while supporting your overall pest management strategy.

Join Central Tablelands Local Land Services for an informative evening session focused on how LGDs can work for your property. Hear from landholders and experts about their real-world experiences - what’s worked, what to consider, and how to successfully integrate guardian dogs into your operation.

These sessions will give you the knowledge and confidence to explore LGDs as part of your pest animal control program, helping you make informed decisions that suit your property, enterprise, and goals.

Our speakers:

• Paul Gibb – With almost a decade of experience in wild dog control in the Central Tablelands and overseas, Paul has worked with landholders to develop best practice control programmes suited to their properties. Paul will talk about how he connected with each guest speaker through his work. 

• Wayne Wayte – Manager of 4,900 ha station near Stanthorpe, QLD who has seen lamb survival rates increase from approx. 2% due to broadscale predation, to approx. 130% using Maremma guardian dogs. Wayne will be talking about the effective use of guardian dogs on large-scale properties.

• Catherine Kimmorley – Over 30 years' experience in bonding and training Maremma livestock guardian dogs on her sheep stud near Armidale, NSW. Catherine’s expertise has seen lambing rates increase from 50% to 160-170% and focuses on peri-urban farms.

• Silvia Bonomi – Breeder of Sopravissana sheep in the Marche region of Italy. Silvia breeds and utilises Maremma dogs to protect her flock from wolf attacks and will provide a unique international aspect of predator control.
