Description

Planning for the future of a child or family member with disability can feel overwhelming, but putting the right structures in place now can provide peace of mind for years to come.

We invite our school community to join Duncan Legal and Peninsula Specialist College for the final webinar in our three-part series as we explore guardianship and administration and the role these arrangements can play in supporting adults with disability.

Topic: Guardianship & Administration

Date: Tuesday 20 October 2026
Time: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Melbourne time)
Location: Online via Webex

Whether you're just starting to think about these issues or reviewing existing arrangements, this session will provide valuable information to help you make informed decisions.

Topics include;

• What guardianship and administration are, and how they differ
• When guardianship or administration may be necessary
• How decisions are made when a young person turns 18
• The rights of people with disability and supported decision-making options
• The role and responsibilities of guardians and administrators
• How to apply for guardianship or administration orders
• Key considerations for families planning for the future

Whether your child is approaching adulthood or you are simply beginning to think ahead, this webinar will provide families with practical guidance and an opportunity to ask questions.

Questions are welcome with time allocated for Q&A at the end of the session.

This webinar is the final session in a three-part series presented by Duncan Legal and Peninsula Specialist College to support families navigating disability-related legal and future planning matters.

This free webinar runs for approximately one hour, followed by question time. You will need to be able to access Webex on your phone or device.

Please note that the webinar will not be recorded, so we encourage families to attend live.

Please note: This webinar provides general information only and is not intended to be legal or financial advice. Every family’s circumstances are different, and attendees should seek independent professional advice tailored to their individual situation before making decisions about Wills, trusts, Powers of Attorney or estate planning.
