'Communicate with Confidence’ Workshop Series
This interactive and supportive workshop series is designed to help participants to build effective communication skills for all areas of life. The aim is to help participants to develop practical skills and confidence to engage with others in social, work or community settings. In this series, you will be supported to learn new skills and put them into practice. This series will be facilitated in person at Guide Dogs Victoria.
This workshop series will cover:
- Body language (why is this still important when I have low vision?)
- Active and effective listening
- How do I meet new people and network?
- Overcoming fear and anxiety in communication
- Techniques for assertive communication
- Ways to keep the communication flowing
- How to manage difficult conversations.
These sessions will be facilitated by Fiona Demark. Fiona is a qualified Social Worker, Life Coach and professional public speaker. Fiona has lived experience of vision loss and is passionate about helping individuals to develop the skills and confidence to thrive and achieve their goals.
Session dates:
· Session 1: Thursday 19th September, 5:00pm – 6:30pm
· Session 2: Thursday 3rd October, 5:00pm – 6:30pm
· Session 3: Thursday 17th October, 5:00pm – 6:30pm
· Session 4: Thursday 24th October, 5:00pm – 6:30pm
Registration will be for the entire series only (not individual sessions).
