Guided Bird Walk at Wilson Reserve
Discover the Birds of Wilson Reserve
Join Dr Jacinta Humphrey for a free guided bird walk through Wilson Reserve, Ivanhoe, and discover the diverse birdlife that calls the Birrarung home.
As you explore the reserve's varied habitats, you'll learn more about local bird species, their behaviours and the important role riverside environments play in supporting urban wildlife. Whether you're new to birdwatching or an experienced birder, this walk is a wonderful opportunity to build your bird identification skills while connecting with nature.
Participants of all ages and levels of birdwatching experience are welcome. If you have a pair of binoculars, please bring them along.
About your guide
Dr Jacinta Humphrey is an Urban Ecologist and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. Her research focuses on bridging the gap between urban development and wildlife conservation, creating practical solutions that help native birds thrive in our cities.
This event is being generously hosted by Banyule City Council.
