Event description

Visit this unique urban community of 27 dwellings in the centre of Adelaide, which includes apartments, standalone strawbale houses, and townhouses.

Sustainable design features include:

  • passive solar design
  • photovoltaic cells with battery storage
  • solar hot water – flat plate and evacuated tubes
  • composting
  • underground stormwater storage
  • community spaces – meeting room, laundry, bike shelter, produce garden, roof garden

Christie Walk was purpose-built as a model ecocity development. It’s designed to showcase how biodiversity, low emissions and community-living can be fashioned into a vibrant and verdant inner-city development.
