Want to learn the basics of guitar improvisation? Let us get you started on the right track.
In this workshop you will learn:
- Basic music theory (including tab notation and the principle of sharps and flats)
- Tips on how to practice scales
- Guitar licks and techniques
- How to improvise with one fretboard pattern of the minor pentatonic scale
- How to improvise with one fretboard pattern of the major pentatonic scale
- How to transpose the minor and major pentatonic scale to different keys
Included with this workshop are:
- A learning manual
- Six months access to our learning portal which has 12 backing tracks in different major and minor keys. This is for participants to go home and explore further what is covered in the workshop
PLEASE NOTE: Although this workshop is aimed at beginner lead guitarists, it is not intended for beginner guitarists. It is assumed that participants attending have a sound knowledge of:
- Open and bar chords (major and minor)
- Basic music theory including a knowledge of the names of the notes on the 6th string up to the 12th fret on the fretboard
Age: 18+
Terms and conditions:
- Participants are required to bring their own electric or acoustic guitar. No amplifiers are to be brought. We provide you with the amplifier.
- The workshop will be approximately 2.5 hours, allowing several minutes at the end for questions participants may have.
- Only bottled water is permitted to be brought into the workshop area. No other drinks or food are permitted.
- It is the participant’s responsibility to be punctual as, due to time limitations, it will not be possible to go back to cover information already covered once the workshop has started.
- Orders are refundable (100% of the ticket price) for up to 14 days before the event. Humanitix fee is non-refundable.
- Participants must be 18+ in age.
