    Event description

Back for another righteous instalment it’s…. Guitarnival ’23. This will be the sixth time we’ve hosted an artist under the Guitarnival banner and stepping up to the plate this year is an artist that is long been loved; yet dormant for seven years, we welcome none other than Tom Lark.

Tom Lark is the pseudonym of Shannon Fowler, a gifted musician and producer who first graced the ears of Aotearoa and beyond back in 2011 with his infectious indie guitar pop stylings. After penning two EPs of solid gold hooks; both to critical acclaim and touring internationally to rapturous applause, Tom Lark disappeared in a cloud of glitter and mist. People were left wondering, what happened to that strawberry blonde tunesmith that made me feel so good with the power of his song? The answer to this question is simply, no one knows.

And so it was with the warmest cockles that his audience received the news that Tom Lark had once again risen from places unknown and there was new music afoot in the shape of a full album entitled, Brave Star.

Lewis Eady is honoured to host at Guitarnival ’23 for Tom Lark…Alone. A stripped back solo show where he will breathe new life into his mythical back catalogue and treat us to his new wares. A classic songwriter in the truest sense and a master of gadgetry, guests are sure to see a completely original show – up close and personal. Don’t miss out!
