We've packed Gum Ball 2021 with some creative, soul enriching workshops for kids, teens and adults alike!

We've popped a small fee against some art workshops, please know this is to secure a spot and for artists to purchase consumable supplies. For a massage, we have a special festival deal just for Gum Ball. You'll be seen to by a highly skilled and licenced professional.

If you book a space, be sure to turn up as our workshops are popular and will sell out - we want everyone to have the opportunity to participate. Our artists will be raring and ready to go!

*Please be mindful our workshop artists are not babysitters/ child minders. If you have a child attending a workshop you must supervise them close by or sit with them.*

Skateboarding lesson (30 minutes) - Russell Grundy from Grundy's Skate Store is teaching beginner and intermediate skate lessons Saturday, 10am-11am (3 x 20mins - 4 kids/teens per session) beginners and 12-1pm beginners (3 x 20 minutes - 4 kids/teens per session). Intermediate kids/teens bring your board from 10am and skate with the pros. Then watch the pro skaters rip in. BYO skate and safety gear, there'll be a couple spares to hire for $5 cash on the day. At the skate ramp. Please sign waiver on the day to participate.

Zen Shiatsu Massage Therapy (60 minutes) - Amanda is a highly skilled holistic therapist specialising in this traditional Japanese health practice, the word Shiatsu meaning finger pressure, and a traditional method of manual healing.
Zen Shiatsu emphasises a gentle connection between practitioner and patient, using the deep focus of the hara (abdomen) to discover the energetic cause of ill health. It is based on the theory of acupuncture and incorporates principles of anatomy, physiology and pathology. Pre-book a spot, or see Amanda if she sells out. She'll be open Friday 3-6pm, Saturday 11am-1pm/6-9pm and Sunday 10:30am-1:30pm/3pm-6pm. Fast for 1 hour prior. Located in the stall area. 

Basket Weaving with Martha Moderitz (120 minutes or drop in) - Using natural products, learn how to weave your own practical basket. You can pop in to learn the process, weave away at your camp and pop back in for a helping hand if you wish. Saturday 11.30pm-1.30pm/4pm-6pm and Sunday 2pm-4pm. This workshop is suited to adults 14+ as the work involves needles. At the workshop tent. Just pay once and drop into as many sessions as you like for guidance and materials to finish your basket.

Stupendous Shadows Workshop with Curious Legends (60 minutes) - A fun workshop for all ages, participants work with artists to create unique, coloured shadow puppets – then bring them to life! Each shadow puppet goes home with its creator for further fun. Friday and Saturday 7.30pm. At the workshop tent.

Design a Patterned Mandala (60 minutes) -  Learn to construct a circular grid using a compass and ruler and be guided through the process of designing your own decorative mandala. Ages 10+, guardian encouraged to attend with kids. At workshop tent.

Paint Your Inner Queen with Viktoria Bitter (60 minutes) - Our very own fabulously sassy Viktoria Bitter takes you through the process of letting out your inner queen in an outrageous hour of power painting sesh. Have some fun, let loose and see your drag queen dreams come to life! 2.30pm Saturday. At the workshop tent.

Puppetry workshop with The Squeaking Tribe Marionettes (90 minutes) - Create your own new best friend in this all ages puppetry workshop. Get creative with lots of options, colours and bits and bobs to bring them to life right before your eyes! Guardians encouraged to attend with kids. Saturday 10-11.30am and Sunday 12-1.30pm. In the stall area. Bookings essential, this always books out!

Song Writing workshop with Tori Forsyth (60 minutes) - Have a song stuck in your head that you need to get down on paper, but just not sure how where to start? Come learn a thing or two workshop with Tori to learn their process of song writing, and pick their brain for all the hot tips and tricks of the trade. 11am Saturday. At the Young Gums tent. At the Young Gum tent, (behind Tractor Shed).

Recording workshop with Sam Troy + Chris Dale (60 minutes) - Learn how to get that song perfected recorded with Sam and Chris. They'll take you through the basics of gear, and how best to evoke the highest quality sound to get it all sounding just right. 3pm Saturday. At The Young Gums tent, (behind Tractor Shed).

Instrumentation Workshop with Dave Wells (60 minutes) - Bring your instrument or learn about a new instrument and Dave will take you through the basics, and chat to you about all things music. 12.30pm Saturday. Young Gums tent (behind Tractor Shed)

Kid's Fitness Fun and Soccer fun with Core Kids (45 minutes each) - Get the kid's heeby jeebies all worked out with some fitness and soccer fun. Friday 4pm Soccer Fun, Saturday 9am Soccer Fun, Saturday 2.30pm Fitness Fun and Saturday 5pm Fitness Fun. Meet at the kid's play area.

Hoola Hoopin with Jewelz A Hoopz (60 minutes) - no need to book a space, just turn up to learn some hoola hooping fun! Saturday 2pm.

There will also be Indigenous workshops throughout the weekend. Pop over to their stall area to participate, there may be a small fee for materials to participate.
