Gundagai Lamb Consignment Field Day
Event description
Interested in learning about consigning your lambs to Gundagai Lamb?
Gundagai Meat Processors (GMP) are an innovative company who have equipped their meat processing plant to allow for the carcase quality traits of Intramuscular Fat and Lean Meat Yield to be measured.
Gundagai Lamb (GL) is the trading brand of GMP, responsible for purchasing livestock from producers, and marketing lamb to the consumer. GL offers lamb producers a fantastic opportunity to increase the value of their lamb by paying quality bonuses for carcases that make the premium grade.
Ridgehaven have been consigning prime lambs to GL since 2020, using the opportunity to test genetic and management variation, and using the feedback to gain a better understanding of what production model is needed to hit the premium targets.
This field day, run as a collaboration between Ridgehaven and Gundagai Lamb, will give you a hands on approach to understanding what GL are looking for and how to maximise the value in the lambs that are consigned.
