Guru Purnima 2026, a Sydney Vedic Community Gathering
Description
We're delighted to invite you to celebrate Guru Purnima with our Sydney Vedic community at North Bondi. Guru Purnima is a highlight of the Vedic calendar, and it is a tradition thousands of years old, celebrated on the waxing full moon in July throughout India.
GURU = Teacher
PURNIMA = Fullness (moon)
Guru Purnima is an evening dedicated to honouring the Vedic Masters who gifted us the knowledge we cherish and practise today, and to giving thanks for any experience or person who has helped us grow. This year, we're bringing our community together as one group. We'd love to see you.
Evening Highlights:
Puja Ceremony: During the evening, we'll enjoy the traditional "Puja" ceremony you witnessed when you first learned to meditate. This short ceremony is a heartfelt expression of gratitude to the lineage of our Vedic teachers. Please bring a flower to offer.
Boon: A tradition of Guru Purnima is the granting of a wish with the offering of your flower at the end of the Puja ceremony. Give your wish worthy consideration: what do you desire, and how can its fulfilment contribute to the evolution of others?
Group Meditation: We will enjoy a short group meditation after Puja. It's recommended to meditate and have dinner before the event.
Sweet Treats: It's tradition on Guru Purnima to share sweets and enjoy the company of fellow meditators under the light of the full moon.
Soma-Soaking by the Ocean: With the venue right on the water at North Bondi, we will go for a walk by the ocean under the full moon at the end of the evening.
This is a community event open to anyone who has already learned Vedic Meditation. Parking is available nearby, and the venue has accessible entry.
Due to space limitations, there are a limited number of tickets available. Please get yours quickly to avoid disappointment. If you would like to learn to meditate so you can join us next year, please get in touch.
With love and Jai Guru Deva.
