Event description

Join us for the launch of the Gut Feelings: crafting gut-brain connections exhibition during National Science Week.

This group exhibition explores how contemporary artists interpret the vital connection between our gut and our wellbeing. Produced by three local artist, Pat Pillai, Mary Hayman, and Rita Pearce, the exhibition builds a collective body of work that is both scientifically grounded and deeply human.

Guest speakers at the launch include:

  • Professor Georgina Hold, Professor of Gut Health, UNSW Sydney, and Director of Research, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

  • Aunty Dolly Brown, proud Yuin and Dunghutti woman and representative for Sutherland Shire Reconciliation

  • The artists Pat Pillai, Mary Hayman, and Rita Pearce.

Free and open to all, with registration requested for catering purposes.

The exhibition at Hazelhurst Arts Centre will run until 2 September.
