Hear a personal story about the experience of bowel cancer, including recognising symptoms, navigating diagnosis and the importance of seeking help.

🧩 Medical Escape Challenge
Work in teams to solve fictional patient cases. Identify red-flag symptoms, consider risk factors and decide what should happen next. Can your team crack the case?

🦠 Gut Microbiome Session
Learn what the gut microbiome is, why it matters and how everyday factors such as diet and lifestyle can affect gut health.

💡 Expert Panel & Q&A
Ask your questions and hear experts discuss common misconceptions, diet trends, exercise, family history, screening, mental wellbeing and student health services.

🏆 Kahoot Championship
Put your knowledge to the test! Battle it out in a fun team competition covering gut health, nutrition, symptoms, screening, lifestyle and myth-busting — with prizes for the top teams.

🧭 Getting to the Venue

The Old Howard Florey Laboratories is located within the University of Melbourne’s Parkville Campus, in the Medical/Health Sciences precinct.

From Grattan Street:
Enter the Parkville Campus and follow signs towards the Medical/Health Sciences precinct and Building 183.

From Royal Parade:
Enter the campus and follow signage towards Medical Road and the medical buildings.

By tram:
Tram services operate along Royal Parade and Grattan Street. From the nearest stop, allow approximately 5–10 minutes to walk across campus.

Once you reach Building 183:
Enter the Old Howard Florey Laboratories, head to the Ground Floor, and follow signs for Room G20.

Look out for Gut Health Workshop & Talk signage and event volunteers who will be available to help with directions.
