Gympie (Kabi Kabi) - Understanding Artists' Fees and Wages - A NAVA Presentation
Event description
Knowing your worth as an artist is important. With rising costs of living, equipping yourself with the knowledge to be able to price and value your time appropriately is key to sustaining creative practice and work.
In this workshop, NAVA will walk through the minimum standards for artist fees and wages in the new Code of Practice for Visual Arts, Craft and Design (the Code). This resource, endorsed by the Australian Government as part of National Cultural Policy - Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place, sets out equitable, ethical and self-reflective standards for the professional Australian contemporary arts sector.
Participants will walk away understanding how the Code can be used as both a map and self-advocacy tool to advocate for fair pay and working conditions.
This is a free workshop presented by Robyn Fernandez (NAVA's QLD Co-ordinator) in partnership with CQ RASN and the Gympie Regional Council.
The Regional Arts Services Network is an initiative of the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
