Description

LUNCH SOLD OUT - Evening tickets available

Breathing life into art, Pipit leads the way. Gyotaku is an ancient Japanese method that translates as gyo (fish) and taku (impression), a ritual used by fishermen to record prized catches, and a tradition perfected by our region’s award-winning restaurant Pipit. Since 2020, Gyotaku fish printing has been a unique and creative part of how Pipit explores art, dining and seasonal menus. Chef and co-owner Ben Devlin has reimagined his Pottsville restaurant as a specialised art and dining experience, the only restaurant in Australia where this can be experienced, so we are extremely fortunate to have this offering for our Savour the Tweed program this year.

As part of an intimate group gathered around the Chef’s Counter, you’ll watch as Ben demonstrates this unique art form, share stories and gain firsthand knowledge about the ethos of sustainable and seasonal seafood before experiencing a memorable 5 course seafood-led tasting menu, connecting art and food to the Tweed’s coastal landscapes. You’ll head home with a handmade gyotaku print tucked under your arm.

Due to popular demand a new evening sitting has been added from 6pm - 8.30pm.
