Gypsy Swing Soirée - Carolyn Packer

Carolyn is steeped in the music of the African American tradition. As well as solo appearances and her own jazz band, she performs, tours and records extensively with local and international blues, jazz, gospel and rock‑n‑roll outfits and performers.

As well as a solo musician, Carolyn leads the jazz band The Stompin' Rhythm Aces. Drawing from various styles – traditional New Orleans and early blues, boogie-woogie and jump swing. And The Garden Party Trio, an ensemble that explores early 60's jazz, rhythm and blues and soulful swing.

Joining Carolyn will be Cameron Jones on guitar and Oscar Peterson on bass. 

The format for the afternoon will be two 45min sets of music, followed by an acoustic gypsy jazz jam open to all. Bring your instruments. Tea and coffee and snacks are available. Or you can bring your own. Early bird discount for the first ten tickets sold. Children under 16 are FREE but must be accompanied by an adult.
