HackED 2023: Artificial Intelligence
Event description
Calling all passionate educators! Get ready to dive into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and education. Join us for the second iteration of the HackED hackathon, where you'll connect, create, and collaborate to harness the potential of AI to transform learning experiences. You will walk away with resources ready to be used in your own classroom contexts because, well, you designed them!
What is a HackED hackathon?
HackED is an immersive hackathon event designed exclusively for educators, by educators. Part competition, part conference, educators across subject disciplines, school contexts and experience levels come together to create learning solutions and materials for the classrooms of tomorrow! In teams, you will be competing to co-design learning sequences with innovative teaching and learning activities, to see who takes out the top prize 🏆.The point of HackED is not the prizes, but the pedagogy! Whether you are a first year university student, or a Head of Learning – HackED welcomes everyone interested in levelling up education.
I'm interested! What are the details? 💸 Cost: FREE |
NOTE: This event is part of a research study exploring the potential of hackathons for educational innovation and interdisciplinary professional learning. As part of the study, you will be asked to participate in a hackathon event for learning design – taking part in workshops, mentor conversations and ultimately working in small teams of four to co-design interdisciplinary learning resources. These resources will then be analysed as part of this research. The event will take approximately 8 hours. This hackathon event has been designed by the Honours researcher Franco de Joya (Supervisor Professor Lina Markauskaite), and will be conducted in-person. Lunch and other refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Participation in this study would also include individual surveys and group surveys. The event will be video-recorded and copies of materials produced during the event will be collected for data analysis. All data will be only used for research purposes and reported in an anonymised form. For further information about the project, please refer to this Participant Information Statement attached in the Terms and Conditions for registration. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. |
