Hacklings: Youth Tech (STEaM) Club! TERM 3 2025

Come help us build TAP lab's Rangatahi (Youth) Tech (STEaM) Club! 
No prior knowledge is required - only curiosity & imagination.

WHAT:

Hacklings is aimed to be a Rangatahi-lead STEaM session where kids can collaborate on projects they're passionate about.
Discover, solve, and create together using tools & resources in TAP lab.

These can include - but not limited to:

• Textiles: sewing machines, overlocker, embroidery

• Electronics: Robots, Arduino, Raspberry Pi

• 3D: modeling & printing

• Cutting: laser & vinyl

• Coding, game-design

• and more! 

Suitable for ages 10+

Younger participants must be supervised by a guardian (guardians you can join in too!)

TAP lab, upstairs at the Te Atatū Peninsula Community Centre

WHEN:

This event runs every Thursday from 4pm-6pm during the term.

There is also a session on Wednesday 4pm-6pm for some of the older rangatahi. It is INVITE ONLY. If you are have been attending the Wednesday session just purchase 1 ticket even if you plan to attend both sessions (you don't need to pay twice).

HOW:

Sign up by purchasing a Humanitix ticket for the term.

If you haven't been before you can drop in first to check it out before committing.

TAP lab is dedicated to keeping our programmes accessible, if you are unable to afford the cost of the ticket for the term please email us on hacklings@taplab.nz. We will supply you with an access code to sign up on Humanitix for free. You don't need to explain why you are unable to pay.
