With a thrilling score that blends folk, jazz, blues, and New Orleans inspired rhythms, this Tony Award® winning production reimagines ancient Greek myth for a modern world.

Set in a smoky, industrial underworld and a struggling, depression-era landscape above, Hadestown follows Orpheus, a gifted musician whose song has the power to change the world. When Eurydice, hardened by hunger and hardship, is lured to the underground factory kingdom of Hades in search of security, Orpheus must journey into the depths to bring her back. What unfolds is a haunting and hopeful story about love, trust, sacrifice, and the courage it takes to hold onto hope in the darkest of times.

Created by acclaimed singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and developed with visionary director Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown has captivated audiences around the world with its poetic storytelling, powerful performances, and electrifying live band. The show won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and has been celebrated for its inventive staging and emotionally resonant score.
