Hag-ia on place
Event description
We, our conversations, and what we create together is the art.
Together we will be exploring our women ancestors through storytelling, walking, and making. This is an opportunity to reconnect to our roots and resurface those voices that have been silenced.
Despite a deep history of women’s leadership within the European culture, in recent centuries our matriarch’s voices have been silenced. Together we will embark on a journey of retracing our matrilineal ancestry to relearn their stories. This is a beginning. A remembering. A relearning of the stories they told. We will discover this together through intuitive embodied, technological, and conversational research. And it will culminate with a shared collection of stories discovered over this short period.Â
Hag-ia will extend beyond the Nature Festival culminating in an exhibition in 2025.Â
"This type of art is cutting edge and emerges out of experimental theatre which aligns with Tarsha’s training as an actor and it blends beautifully into the performing work that Tarsha initiated and executed to great success in the Fringe Festival. Tarsha is well experienced, dedicated and responsible and is producing important work " Artist Daniel Connell
