TERRYIFYING BANDS
THE PHOSPHENES create imperfect three-minute pop songs from a standard dysfunctional rock line-up (with added harmonica for your convenience) that - replete with catchy hooks and upbeat rhythms, armed with poignant and quirky humour, and dripping in vocal harmonies – stick in your head and rewire your brain.
THUNDABOX is an Australian punk rock band formed in Sydney in 2003. They're known for their high-energy live performances and "Aussie Beer Punk" sound, blending pub punk and dirty rock 'n' roll. The band consists of members Pete, Shelfy, Muc, and Imantz, with a discography including 4 LPs and 2 EPs. They're popular in Australia's music scene, especially in Melbourne, and have shared stages with notable bands. Thundabox is also associated with Pete Thorn, a musician and YouTube personality, but in this context, it refers to the band.
ANNUAL LEAF are from Melbourne, Matt, Mel, Paul and Billy bring you jangle fizz antipodean cocktails for your ears.
VICUNA COAT TRIO Some songs refuse to stay buried. Edwin Gordo and Kat from Vicuna Coat rise again this Halloween, prying open the coffin of their long-silenced originals. Expect ghostly riffs, undead choruses, and melodies that should probably have been left in the crypt. They’ll drag you along, kicking and screaming, to dance on the grave of their own catalogue.
ILL-GOTTEN BOOTY Ill-Gotten Booty also stubbornly refuse to stay buried…originally the creative child of Mary Stone (lead vocals) and Clare Bligh (keys) the duo added the fantastic talents of Brendan Gray (guitar, vocals) and Ash Jones (violin, mandolin, vocals and pretty much everything). They have traversed distance (Cape Otway playing live to the original Ned Kelly in a koala park, country NSW and most inner Melbourne haunts) and genre – folk, punk, rock, country…and spooky gothic. This is their first show since 2021.
