Mount Hallowell BioBlitz 2025
Event description
🌿 Register as a Citizen Scientist for the Mount Hallowell BioBlitz 2025
Join us for the second Mount Hallowell BioBlitz on Saturday 25 October 2025, a day of community discovery and citizen science. Volunteers will work alongside scientists and local knowledge holders to help record the flora and fauna of Kooryunderup/Mount Hallowell.
As a participant, you’ll be using iNaturalist, an easy-to-use mobile app that allows you to photograph and upload your observations. These records are then identified by a community of users and added to the Atlas of Living Australia, creating a lasting record of our region’s biodiversity. Please download the iNaturalist app before the event and bring a smartphone or device you are comfortable using in the field. If you require assistance with this please get in touch or look out for the workshops that will be held.
In the lead-up to the BioBlitz, you’ll be sent information about the teams and survey sites available so you can choose the group that best suits your interest and fitness level. Options will range from forest walks to granite outcrop explorations, with each team guided by a specialist in their field.
No prior experience is needed - just curiosity, a love of nature, and a willingness to contribute to building our collective knowledge of this unique reserve.
