Hand tools for beginners
Level: Beginners and those who have never used hand tools.
$15 booking fee
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to use basic hand tools useful for home DIY. You'll also learn about safe use of tools, types of timber, and nails, screws and bolts. And you'll be able to practise and build confidence making a sauce caddy to take home.
Tools used:
- Measuring tools; squares, rulers and tape measures.
- Hammers.
- Hand saws.
- Jig saws (demo only)
- Electric drill and parts
- Clamps
Facilitator Maylei Hunt is passionate about sustainable furniture and has been teaching creative workshops for over 15 years. @mayleithespoonmaker
This workshop is limited to 10 adult participants. There will be a waiting list. If you book and become unable to attend, please cancel your booking so someone on the waiting list can be offered a place. If you cancel 7 days or more before the event, we can offer a full refund.

Getting to the venue
- Regent Railway Station, on the Mernda Line, is right next to the venue.
- Bus Route 553 runs along Regent Street Reservoir and there is a stop just near the corner with Robinson Road, which is less than 5 minutes walk to the venue.
- If coming by car, there is plenty of parking in the railway station carpark as well as some spots in the Regent Centre carpark.
