Description

Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!

Hands On Ecology workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces, and may include up to 2 hours of walking—please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.

This session covers:

  • Ridgeline to sea - how we connect through whakapapa to each of those spaces

  • Looking at elements to design your restoration, including hau, wai and whenua

  • Site specific species & endangered ecologies

Registration is essential as participant numbers are limited for health and safety reasons.
