Hands On Ecology series: Takutai - 20 Nov 2026

Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!

Hands On Ecology workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces, and may include up to 2 hours of walking—please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.

This session covers:

• Awa - repo - takutai - connections

• Regeneration of streams in urban spaces

• Repo - Small wetlands

• Coastal restoration

• Manawa

Registration is essential as participant numbers are limited for health and safety reasons.
