Join us in learning te ao Māori approach to restoration!

Hands On Ecology workshop series is designed for community restoration groups and anyone keen to learn about restoration ecology through a te ao Māori lens. A 3-hour session offers practical skills for restoring private and public spaces, and may include up to 2 hours of walking—please dress appropriately and bring water/snacks.

This session covers:

Cultural footprint of spaces, awareness of living spaces and how we connect to them
Kauri habitat protection
Identifying restoration opportunities in urban reserves
Using iNaturalist for data recording and plant ID
Birds and plant identification
Decision-making in restoration practices

Registration is essential as participant numbers are limited for health and safety reasons.
