Hang Out & Tinker @ Tipping Point

Calling all makers, inventors, hackers, and tinkerers! Join us at the Nothing Wasted Shed, a community-centric workshop space at Tipping Point where materials are diverted from landfill and given a second life through the lost arts of repair, reuse, and creativity.

🕒 Open Session: Saturdays, 10am – 1pm
🕒 Project Session: Saturdays, 1:30pm – 4pm
(Project Sessions are for those who have already attended an Open Session and have a project underway. Those joining the Project Session are more than welcome to join the Open Session too.)

Hang Out & Tinker is a space for repairing, hacking, upcycling, and creating with discarded electronics and other materials. Bring your own project, a broken object to fix or hack, or choose something from our resource pile as a starting point.

No prior experience needed - just curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Open to ages 16+ (teens and adults). If you have a younger child with a keen interest, please email us (hello@localmaking.org).

We’re growing a community of resourceful makers!

Do you enjoy finding new uses for everyday things and imagining what they could become?

We’re looking for volunteers to help support our sessions, share skills, and learn alongside others. Skills or experience in the following areas would be particularly valuable - though curiosity, enthusiasm, and openness to trying new things are exactly what we’re looking for. We can help you build your skills along the way:

• Electronics repair, tinkering & soldering

• Sewing, mending & textile repair

• General repair, making, and DIY problem-solving

• Woodworking & fabrication

• Programming and physical computing

Together, we’re building a community that finds creative possibilities in the things we already have.
