Kitchen Takeover presents: ‘Hāngī with Kārena and Kasey’

NEW DATES ADDED – Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May.

(Sold out dates: Friday 8, Saturday 9, Sunday 10 April).

Ready to go on another taste-tangling adventure? Kitchen Takeover is excited to announce a special pop-up event with celebrity chefs Kārena and Kasey Bird.

We have added two new dates to this sold out event: Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May from 3-6pm.‘Hāngī with Kārena and Kasey’ will bring you a deeply cultural feast with a strong provenance perspective.

The multi-course feasting menu will be cooked by Kasey and Kārena Bird, and will draw from their whakapapa and upbringing. Our culinary superstars will use traditional cooking techniques with modern twists, whilst celebrating the Bay’s plentiful plethora of produce.

Hosted at the beautiful villa and gardens of Persimmon Lane in Te Puna, you will have the opportunity to see the food being dug up from the hāngī, and hear from Kasey and Karena first-hand about the feast.

Since winning Masterchef in 2014, Kasey and Karena have travelled to over 50 destinations across the globe to meet chefs at the forefront of gastronomy. They will take the envelope-pushing techniques they’ve learnt and combine them with strong family traditions using traditional Māori cooking techniques and flavours. Based on the menu’s native nourishment, we will only be offering a gluten-free option for this event. For all our vegans, vegetarians and other dietary requests or allergies, you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for our other events.

The cost per ticket is $159pp for a multi-course feasting menu + welcome drink.

Register now for a place at our tasty tēpu for the new dates. Presale tickets will be released on Sunday 10 April at 7pm. We will email you a presale link to buy tickets. Be quick when we do or tickets will be gone faster then you can say Tānemahuta
