Description
🌿 Hangout at the Hub is growing — and becoming something rather special.
What began as a relaxed place for parents and babies to connect and access a little extra support is developing into a beautiful network of people who care about mothers and babies.
At its heart, Hangout at the Hub is simply a nurturing space for mothers and babies.
You don't have to come because something is wrong.
Come because you've been home all week and need to see another adult.
Come because you'd like to meet some other mothers.
Come because breastfeeding is tricky, your carrier doesn't feel right, your baby isn't sleeping, motherhood feels overwhelming or you've got a question you haven't quite known who to ask.
Or just come for company.
Depending on the day, our growing support team includes:
🤱 South Eastern Babywearing Group — hands-on babywearing help and our demonstration carrier collection
🩷 Martyna Cooper from Hey Baby! Birth & Breastfeeding Support — Registered Nurse, Midwife and IBCLC, offering breastfeeding and lactation support
🌿 Rachael Iudica from The Mama Well — psychologist supporting maternal wellbeing, parenting and the many transitions of motherhood
🤰 Louise Paterson — midwifery support through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period
😴 Katie Cortes — gentle, responsive support around infant sleep and settling
🤱 Casey-Cardinia Australian Breastfeeding Association — with a local ABA volunteer hopefully joining us regularly too
And perhaps most importantly:
☕ other mothers.
There's plenty of room to sit, talk, feed babies, let little ones play and simply be around people who understand this stage of life.
We also have a separate private room available when someone would prefer some privacy for feeding support, a conversation or a little quieter space.
No sales. No pressure. No expectation that you need to ask for help.
Just mothers, babies, connection and support.

FAQs
- Do I need to book?
This is a drop-in event and no booking is required. Occasionally our volunteers might not be in attendance due to sickness or parenting responsibilities so its always a good idea to touch base if you are after specific support on the day
- Can anyone attend?
Yes, all parents and caregivers, wherever they live are very welcome to come along. Parents, friends or family members, children, toddlers and babies are all welcome and provided for by our space
- Is there a cost?
No! This is a free community service made possible through the generous donation of time by our volunteers and space by our venue.
Photos at our events
Sometimes we take photos at our event.
These might be a group photo or we might ask if we can take individual photos.
We understand you might not want to be in photos or choose not to include your baby's face. That's totally fine - just let us know.
Photos are useful for showing people what to expect at our events or what different carriers look like.
