Hannaford and Big hART

This is your invitation to join us for the gallery opening of art exhibition, 'Hannaford and Big hART,' on Friday 17 November, 6-8 pm, in Adelaide.

2023 is Big hART’s 30th year. Across that time, artist Robert Hannaford has been painting portraits of our participants, from all walks of life, and places around Australia.

This new exhibition features 30 Hannaford portraits created during his time working on Big hART projects. The exhibition celebrates the people, places and purpose of Big hART’s award-winning projects.

Portraits include members of Albert Namatjira’s family; Pitjantjatjara actor Trevor Jamieson; Aboriginal young people and Elders from the Pilbara; Seafarers from the Blue Angel project; housing commission residents from Northcott in Sydney and at-risk young people from the West Coast of Tasmania and other parts of the country.
