Hardings Paddock - Camp - 16-18 August 2024

Location:

• Address: Carmichaels Road, Purga, off the Ipswich Boonah Road (State Route 93)

Camp Highlights:

• Tracks: Fairly shady with some rocky sections; boots or shoes are recommended. There are some hilly areas.
• Saturday Ride:
  • Start: 11:00 AM
  • Duration: Approximately 3 hours
  • Stop: Lookout with spectacular views
• Sunday Ride:
  • Start: 9:30 AM
  • Duration: Approximately 5 hours
  • Includes: Morning tea and lunch

Facilities:

• Exclusive booking of the entire camping area for the weekend
• Toilets, undercover kitchen area, BBQ facilities, and a campfire area
• Shower cubicles (no showers) but a club camp gas shower will be available (please bring water for use)

What to Bring:

• Human and horse drinking water (site water tanks are low to empty)
• Food for horses (yards are bare)
• All human food for the weekend (except dinner on Saturday)
• Temporary electric fencing (if available)
• Firewood for the campfire (if possible)
• All usual camping gear

Camp Access:

• Arrival: From 12:00 PM Friday
• Access Code: Will be provided closer to the camp date
• Upon Arrival: Unload horses, food, and water into the horse yard area before proceeding to the camping area (horses are not allowed in the camping area per council permits)
• Note: You may need to set up your own yard as there are only 8 permanent yards available

Camping Details:

• 8 campsites available
• Capacity: Up to 2 floats per site or tents/swags etc., with up to 6 people per site
• End of Camp: Remove all manure from yards and pull down temporary electric fencing after Sunday’s ride

Costs:

• $10 per float per night
• $5 per person per night

Meals:

• Please bring your own meals except for Saturday night, when we will have nibblies around the campfire and hamburgers on the BBQ.
