RAPS is excited to partner with Harm Reduction Victoria for a practical workshop on harm reduction and naloxone training.

Pharmacists are among the most accessible healthcare professionals in the community. Whether supplying naloxone or counselling a patient receiving opioids, knowing how to recognise and respond to an opioid overdose could save a life.

The session will cover:

• Harm-reduction principles and the role of healthcare professionals
• Understanding opioid overdose and recognising the signs
• What naloxone is and how it works
• How to respond effectively to a suspected opioid overdose
• How to administer Nyxoid naloxone nasal spray
• Supporting safe, accessible and non-judgemental harm-reduction care
• Where free take-home naloxone can be accessed

The workshop will be delivered by Brittany “Brit” Chapman, Lead Workforce Development Educator in Harm Reduction Victoria’s Health Promotion Team. Brit brings over four years of experience with HRVic, as well as a background in grassroots organising and community responses to drug-related harm.

🎁 Participating students will receive a FREE Nyxoid naloxone take-home kit.

This is a practical opportunity to build confidence in an area of healthcare you may encounter across community pharmacy, hospital practice and the wider health sector.
