Harmony Week 2024
Event description
Harmony Week 2024 - Sharing Cultures, Building Harmony through Community Story
Shary
Harmony Week celebrates Australian multiculturism, inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for all living in Australia. The Harmony Day 21st March is also the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Sharing cultural stories, beliefs, values, and understanding of other cultural traditions can lead to a harmonious society and help address the underlying issues of discrimination and racism.
Australia is a three-story nation -
- The Traditional custodians of the land
- Anglo-Celtic
- Culturally diverse immigrants.
Everyone has a story to share and learn from each other.
Let's mark Harmony Week 2024 by participating in the Community Story Sharing Event on Tuesday, 19 March from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Wear your cultural dress and feel free to bring a cultural object that is significant to your culture, for example: - like - a Boomerang, ornaments, spears, Matryoshka dolls, Kirpan, pots, etc).
You will be invited to proudly share in a small group:
- Something significant of your culture
- Why it holds a special place in your heart and What it means to you personally?
