Description

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping education and training systems worldwide, creating new opportunities to enhance accessibility, personalisation and learner engagement. Within Vocational Education and Training (VET), these developments are particularly significant for supporting neurodivergent learners, including individuals on the autism spectrum, those with ADHD, dyslexia and other diverse cognitive profiles.

VET systems play a critical role in promoting inclusion, skills development and labour market participation for all learners. As digitalisation accelerates, AI is increasingly being explored as a tool to personalise learning experiences, improve accessibility, enhance communication, and provide targeted support that enables learners to achieve their potential. AI-enabled technologies can assist with adapting learning pathways, providing real-time feedback, supporting executive functioning, improving assessment accessibility, and helping educators identify and respond to diverse learning needs.

This webinar will explore key findings from the OECD report AI to Support Neurodivergent Learners in Vocational Education and Training. Participants will gain insight into emerging international evidence, promising practices, and policy considerations for implementing AI in ways that strengthen inclusion, learner agency and educational outcomes. The session will also examine the ethical, practical and equity implications of AI adoption, ensuring that technology is used responsibly and in ways that respect learner diversity.

Designed for VET leaders, career development practitioners, educators, trainers, support staff and policymakers, this webinar will provide evidence-based perspectives and practical reflections on how AI can contribute to more inclusive, flexible and learner-centred VET systems while preparing learners for participation in an increasingly digital workforce.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the key findings and recommendations from the OECD report on AI and neurodivergent learners in VET.

  2. Identify how AI-enabled tools can support accessibility, engagement and learning outcomes for neurodivergent learners.

  3. Explore practical examples of AI applications that enhance personalised learning, assessment and learner support within VET settings.

  4. Recognise the ethical, privacy and equity considerations associated with the use of AI in education and training.

  5. Evaluate opportunities and challenges for implementing AI in ways that promote inclusion, learner wellbeing and workforce readiness.

  6. Reflect on the implications of AI for career development practice, learner transitions and future skills development.
