Event description

Every community group is powered by people and when those people understand and play to their natural strengths, the whole group benefits!

This interactive workshop is designed for community leaders, board members, and active volunteers who want to get the best out of themselves and their teams.

We’ll explore the idea of strengths-based leadership. Shifting the focus from what’s “missing” to what’s already working well! Through reflection activities, group discussions, and practical team exercises, you’ll discover how your unique strengths can be harnessed to boost collaboration, reduce conflict, and strengthen decision-making.

You’ll also learn how to spot and value the strengths of others, and how diversity of skills and approaches can help your group navigate challenges and create sustainable impact. Whether you’re leading a trust, running a club, or contributing to a community initiative, this workshop will give you the tools to embed strengths-based practices into your governance, leadership, and everyday teamwork.

You’ll come away with:

  • Insight into your own strengths and how they show up in your leadership style.

  • A greater appreciation for the diverse talents in your team or community group.

  • Practical strategies to improve collaboration, communication, and group effectiveness.

  • Tools you can take back and use to build stronger, more resilient organisations.

This is a hands-on, energising session expect to connect, reflect, and leave with new ideas you can put into practice straight away.
