Event description

Join Clíona Molins (harp) and Baran Yildiz (handpan) for an intimate insight into music that is both old and new. Clíona and Baran bring mastery of their instruments to create vibrant and rhythmic collaborations inspired by music from their diverse backgrounds. Let yourself be immersed in the resonance of these beautiful and unique instruments.

Baran Yildiz is a Sydney based multi-instrumentalist and renowned as one of Australia's most talented handpan players. His music combines melodies and rhythms of the Anatolia, Middle East and Africa with a modern touch on the hand pan, piano and various percussion instruments. His new album, Bridging Worlds, was launched in October 2023.

Clíona is a harp player, teacher and composer. She was classically trained in Dublin, where she studied both the Irish and Concert harps. Since coming to Sydney, she has become influenced by rhythms from South American harp repertoires and the West African kora. Her recent album Golden Kelp is a collaboration with shakuhachi Grand Master, Riley Lee.

Cliona and Baran will be joined by guest vocalist Wendy Twibill.

We look forward to seeing you there!
