Harry Manx (Canada) LIVE at Adamstown Uniting Church | Falling Upwards Tour

The “Mysticssippi Blues Man” returns to Australia with his extraordinary fusion of blues and Indian classical music — and his brand new album Falling Upwards.

For more than two decades, Harry Manx has built one of the most distinctive sounds in roots music, blending deep blues, hypnotic grooves and the spiritual depth of Indian classical music into something entirely his own. Moving effortlessly between slide guitar, harmonica, banjo and the remarkable 20-stringed Mohan Veena, Harry creates a live show that shifts from raw, earthy blues to something soulful, cinematic and completely transporting.

Australia has become a very special part of Harry’s touring life. Over many years, he has returned again and again to packed rooms, warm audiences and a country that has embraced his music in a remarkable way.

And Harry has loved Australia right back.

In 2027, he returns for one of his most extensive Australian tours yet, bringing Falling Upwards to audiences around the country.

This time, the tour is being done a little differently.

Rather than simply playing the usual venues, Harry will perform in a hand-picked collection of beautiful old halls, churches, heritage buildings and historic theatres — intimate spaces chosen specifically to suit the music and create a true listening-room experience.

“Watching Harry play tonight I feel like I learned something new …. ”

Bruce Springsteen

Harry Manx is an artist that critics have occasionally had a hard time getting their minds around. His unique amalgam of blues and other American roots music, classical Indian forms, and bits of rock, pop, and folk makes him difficult to pigeonhole, and self-appointed gatekeepers of those traditions sometimes bemoan his lack of purity, stubbornly missing the point. But Manx’s trip is really quite easy to grasp: He’s an accomplished and adventurous lap-slide guitarist – whether playing a National resonator, a solidbody lap-steel, a modified banjo or cigar-box guitar, or his signature 20-string Mohan Veena – and a compelling singer with a rich, warm, and soulful voice who writes intelligent and compassionate songs and puts them over with heartfelt conviction.”
