Harvest and Repair Event - Seed Saving Workshop

Event description

Join Fiona Blackham of Gaia Permaculture to learn about :

- Basic botany and how plants produce seeds including cross-pollination
- How to harvest seeds including different techniques, labelling and storing seeds

Participants will go home with at least 3 different varieties of seeds they have cleaned themselves and put into envelopes made from origami of recycled paper. 

Light grazing snacks will be provided due to the time frame including gluten-free and vegan options.

The Seed Saving Workshop is part of the Enviro House Harvest and Repair Day in collaboration with Sustainable Bayswater.  Following the workshop will be a Garden Tool Maintenance Session 1.30pm -2pm, then the Share and Repair Cafe 2pm-3.30pm so feel free to bring along those garden tools in need of a sharpen or other items requiring repair.

This Enviro House Community Garden Skill Building Program workshop is supported by the Department of Communities -  Community Gardens Grants program.
