Event description
Orroroo HaSS SA Conference – Explore. Connect. Inspire.
Join us for an inspiring day of professional learning in the heart of the Mid North at the Orroroo Area School on Saturday 13 September 2025, from 9:15am to 2:30pm (arrive from 8:30am).
For just $30 (including morning tea and lunch), secondary HaSS teachers—whether you're metro or country-based, early career or preservice—will experience a powerful program designed to spark creativity, deepen cultural understanding, and build strong professional connections.
Why attend?
Walk in the footsteps of the Ngadjuri people through a historical role play with Ngadjuri Elder Quentin Agius and editor Adele Pring.
Be inspired by the dynamic “Bringing History to Life” workshop with educator Nicole Higgins, showcasing engaging ideas from Ancient Civilisations to the 1990s.
Explore how to create compelling student-led exhibits, assessment mini-lessons, and artifact studies that foster critical thinking.
Share your own ideas in our fun and fast-paced HaSS ‘speed dating’ session—bring your best teaching sparks!
Visit the Orroroo Historical Society and discover real-world student project ideas linked to local history.
Make a weekend of it! Stay overnight in a local B&B or cabin and explore the beautiful Mid North region.
