The aim of this class is to offer a foundational understanding of the core concepts of Hatha Yoga, exploring the philosophy and techniques of the tradition.

This class will focus on calming the mind and grounding and stabilizing the energy of the body.

Through a systematic application of Physical, Mental, Energetic and Moral techniques - including Breath control (Pranayama प्राणायाम), Locks (Bandha बन्ध), Gestures (Mudrā मुद्रा) & Kriyā (क्रिया), the practitioner is guided through a series of methods aimed at transforming the lower mind (old habits, beliefs and patterns) into a state of higher mental and energetic clarity, enabling greater efficiency in worldly duties, a sense of calm, ease and presence in daily life and heightened awareness and alignment to our spiritual centre.

This is an invitation to explore a complete system of conscious self development, practiced for thousands of years by ancient rishis, sages and householders alike.

*This will be a gentle practice to begin (so no handstands or levitations this time). Interest and commitment will dictate further classes.
