Event description

He mihi tuatahi ki te Whenua Tawhito o ngā Iwi Moemoea

He mihi tuarua ki ngā tangata tūturu, te whānau Bundjalung, Ngandowal, Minyungbal, Goodjinburra, Tul-gi-gin, me Moorung-Moobah

Firstly, we pay our respects to these lands, this country—the Ancient lands of the Dreaming tribes.

Secondly, we acknowledge the true people, custodians, and whānau of the Bundjalung Nation, particularly the Ngandowal, Minyungbal, Goodjinburra, Tul-gi-gin, and Moorung-Moobah clans of Murwillumbah, upon whose land we humbly serve this Rongoā, with our intention to whakamana/uplift the culture and well-being of all.

HAU TAPU: Sacred Breathwork & Sound Healing at The Stables

Step into a realm of deep healing and connection at HAU TAPU, an immersive Sacred Breathwork & Sound Healing experience held within the serene sanctuary of The Stables, Murwillumbah.

Led by renowned Māori Healing Facilitator, Chelita Kahutianui o-te-Rangi Zainey, and Sonic Weaver, Whaia, this journey interweaves ancient wisdom, breath, and sacred sound to guide you into profound states of release, relaxation, and renewal.

In this carefully curated TAPU | SACRED space, you will be bathed in the resonant frequencies of ORO (vibrational sound), Hau Tapu (Sacred Breath), and the anchoring energy of Pounamu.

Chelita, as Poutokomanawa, holds the centre of this practice, leading you through conscious connected circular breathing, a powerful process to unlock suppressed emotions, clear stagnation, and realign with your true self.

Whaia masterfully weaves sound as medicine, drawing on taonga pūro and vocal frequencies to create a sonic journey that bridges the physical and spiritual realms. Her soundscapes are infused with intention, guiding you deeper into your inner landscape and unlocking transformation through vibration.

Rooted in Indigenous wisdom, this experience is designed to take you into a non-ordinary state of consciousness, where breath and sound work in harmony to facilitate healing, insight, and deep embodiment.

Throughout this journey, you will be safely held and supported by Ngā Tohunga Reo o Aio, with particular guidance from Alyse Louise and Mau Caldwell Brooking, both skilled in breathwork facilitation, alongside the wider Ngā Tohunga Reo o Aio support team.

Whether you are seeking emotional release, inner peace, or a deeper connection to yourself and the world, this event is for you.

This is an open and inclusive event for those 18 and over.

WHAT TO BRING

To ensure your comfort and relaxation throughout the experience, we encourage you to bring:

  • A yoga mat or something soft to lie on
  • A blanket, bolster, or cushions for extra support
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated
  • Anything else that helps you feel nurtured and at ease

Creating a cosy and supportive space for yourself will allow you to surrender fully into the journey.
