Any creations you wish to share with the world!

How Did She Do It!?

Kristy will share insights into her journey of the design, creation, and pricing process of her colourful and vibrant accessories and how she found her unique artistic voice.

Offering invaluable advice drawn from her own experience, shedding light on aspects she wishes she had known when embarking on her creative venture, such as factoring the following into the price for your pieces: Hours poured into the crafting and design process, labor hours, expenses, and how these elements contribute to determining suitable markup and profit margins.

Kristy will dive into how she established a brand that connects with her audience, amplifying the voices of First Nations, LGBTQIASB+ (and so many more!) people through her bold, playful, statement-making jewellery —imbuing a sense of empowerment and joy within everybody who wears it.

How she navigated imposter syndrome and found her though to her unique artistic voice that cultivated an online creative community, that values, shares and supports her work!

This is an interactive webinar! Please feel more than welcome to take yourself off mute, or pop it in the chat and ask questions as we go!

Learn more about Kristy Dickinson

At the helm of Haus of Dizzy, proud Wiradjuri woman Kristy Dickinson creates bold, playful, statement-making jewellery that celebrates and honours Indigenous culture—imbuing a sense of empowerment and joy within everybody who wears it.

Often featuring powerful political and social messages, each Haus of Dizzy piece is designed, laser-cut, hand-painted and assembled in the company’s studio, located in Fitzroy, Melbourne/Naarm.

Dickinson has been making jewellery for 20 years and founded Haus of Dizzy in 2015 after recognising a lack of representation within the world of jewellery and fashion accessories. “I created the Indigenous pride collection so Mob could show their pride in a cool, fun way and allies could support and open a dialogue around Indigenous issues.”

Using mirrored acrylic, glitter, dynamic patterns, and alluring takes on the Aboriginal flag, Kristy achieves her goal of “bringing social, political and environmental issues to the forefront” by way of colourful, vibrant accessories.

Beyond their commitment to encouraging crucial dialogue, Haus of Dizzy takes part in social and political action; collaborating with non-profit organisations such as AYCC (Stop Adani Movement), SEED MOB (Water is life), Sydney Mardi Gras, DjirraNAIDOC and the YWCA.

Through behind-the-scenes fundraising, collaborative work and their statement-making accessories, Haus of Dizzy continues to celebrate, support and contribute to Indigenous cultures. Whether it’s the neon “Cool Aunty” earrings, sparkly Aboriginal flag hairpins, glossy Bamboo HoopsSunflowersSpaceshipsLightning Bolts or other resplendent designs, Haus of Dizzy products facilitate conversations and attract attention for all the right reasons.
