Description

Haus of Marigold: Spring Emergence Workshops

Step into the old Marigold Chinese Restaurant space for a day of hands-on creativity.

Haus of Marigold is a community led pop-up hosted by Soul of Chinatown celebrating Asian culture, creativity and connection in Sydney, and this November it returns with a new theme: Spring Emergence.ww

Alongside the pop-up, you can join four workshops run by some of our favourite makers and creatives. Book your spot below, then spend the rest of the day exploring the stalls, food and drinks, live art and music.

Lineup

  • Teacup painting w/ CeeCee Studios - 10AM to 12PM

Paint your own pottery teacup in a calm and creative two-hour session. Your teacup will be fired and ready for pick up from CeeCee Studios about four weeks after the event.

  • Mahjong w/ Soul of Chinatown (Freeplay/Intermediate) - 11am to 1pm & 2pm to 4pm

Take a seat for an hour of Hong Kong style Mahjong at an intermediate or expert level, whether you’re with friends or meeting someone new at the table. All ticket proceeds go to Soul of Chinatown’s Rice Fund, supporting elderly Asian-Australians and others in need.

  • Chanhua arrangement w/ Florele Atelier - 12:30pm to 2:30pm

Discover traditional Chinese flower arranging (中國傳統插花 - Zhongguo Chanhua), an art form with roots stretching back thousands of years. Inspired by this tradition, this workshop invites you to arrange blooms with intention and take your own creation home, in the spirit of Spring Emergence.

  • Paper lantern making w/ CeeCee Studios - 3pm to 5pm

Make your own paper lantern that you can take home after the session. All tools and materials are included.
