Description

Have Your Say: UNE Creative Industries Regional Consultation

What should Creative Industries education look like in the New England North West?

Arts North West is supporting the University of New England (UNE) to explore the feasibility of future Creative Industries offerings, delivered online and in person through UNE Tamworth.

As part of this process, we’re inviting artists, musicians, performers, writers, filmmakers, designers, makers, creative businesses, arts and cultural organisations, educators, employers, students, local government and community members to join us for a face-to-face consultation in Tamworth.

This is your opportunity to sit around the table, share your experiences and help UNE better understand what our region needs.

What will we talk about?

The facilitated conversation will explore:

  • skills and training gaps across the regional creative sector

  • what people need to build sustainable creative careers

  • potential course content and learning opportunities

  • flexible and accessible ways to study in regional communities

  • employment, enterprise and career pathways

  • practical learning, placements and industry partnerships

  • how UNE can connect with the artists, organisations and creative businesses already working across our region

  • what would encourage people to study Creative Industries without having to leave the region.

You don't need to currently work in the creative industries to participate. Prospective students, career changers and anyone interested in developing creative skills or strengthening our region's creative sector are encouraged to attend.

Come along, have your say and help ensure the voices and experiences of the New England North West are part of shaping future Creative Industries education.

Sam holds a master’s degree in film, is currently studying for her PhD, and lectures in Digital Content Creation and Writing for Stage and Screen.
