Haven Presents: Pangaea, Spray, Phil Smart & In The Flowers

Haven is proud to be pairing, Hessle Audio founder and UK dance titan Pangaea & Spray, an artist who has been difficult to miss these past few years with tracks that have become staples on many of our favourite artists USB's. Two artists pushing the club culture story forward. With support from Phil Smart & In The Flowers, this will be a night spanning dance music generations and genres but also delivering the most cutting edge in the game to Byrons doorstep. SPRAY (IR)
Initially sprouting as a reissue label project for pyro + freaky prog, the innate desire for the sound resulted in lockdown tracks and mixes, and the natural step of becoming a producer moniker/DJ. Rooted from Ireland, and now based in the ‘Hollywood for DJs’ that is Berlin, Spray has quickly made noise for seminal crews such as Radiant Love, Soulseekers Allowance and HÖR. 

Taste the satiating sound on the debut EP for Craigie Knowes, breaking the formulaic tendency of trance to add essential freakiness, breaks, and wigged out prog; quite the potent brew. 

The live sound is a blend also, as on the decks Spray has one hand dusty from digging into the past, whilst the other gleams through indulging in the present. Essential for all heads-down prog movers seeking twisted momentum and glistening rhythms.

Pangaea (UK)
Pangaea (Kevin McAuley) is a South London–based producer and DJ who has spent over 15 years at the forefront of UK club music. As a co-founder of Hessle Audio, his work draws on a broad lineage of UK dance cultures while consistently pushing toward new rhythmic and structural ideas.

His 2023 album Changing Channels distils this approach into focused, club-ready tracks that balance experimentation with immediacy. Equally at home in the booth, Pangaea’s DJ sets — shaped by long-running residencies and appearances at Berghain, fabric and Dekmantel — bring genres into sharp conversation, prioritising groove, clarity and forward motion over fixed forms.

Haven positions itself as a one-of-a-kind temporary venue where people can celebrate music and connect with their community before the building is inevitably redeveloped. The entire space is built entirely with salvaged materials; a nod to the space's transient nature. The impermanence of the space becomes part of its power, building urgency and turning each night of unique programming into a rarity.

The venues story is also shaped by the history of the building. An old Woolworths site now being transformed into a venue for culture. 

The installation led by Oliver Buckworth, Katsu Yokoyama and Zelimir Harasty takes guests to a street scene in a densely populated city, where culture, sound and life overlap. There’s traces of Kowloon city, 80’s anime, Wong Kar Wai films and Tokyo listening bar culture.
