- About the workshop:
HAWT Couture brings together anti-fashion fashion sustainability practices with the imaginative world of DIY design and storytelling through costume.
- What will I learn?
You will learn fun approaches to sustainable costume-making that are unique to you and the stories you want to tell through design. This will include experimenting with collage, 2D & 3D designs, and more. This workshop is less about specific 'techniques' or learning to sew ( there won't be any machines, but if you already sew, feel free to BYO), and more about embracing weird and wonderful ways of design-making.
- What will I take home?
As much or as little as you want! It could include a collage 'mind-map' design, a 2D sculpture, or even a DIY wearable costume or item. 5 hours is not a long time, but this can be the beginning of a whole new way of looking at costuming, and if you're keen to play more, we will be running an 8 week series in Term 2.
