    Event description

Take the journey of a sea turtle hatchling!  From the nesting beach to the open ocean, to hitching a ride on the Gulf Stream and back to the nesting beach to begin the life cycle of a sea turtle again. See how danger lurks at every part of the journey for a hatchling. Dip nets and wade into salt water to find what hatchlings eat along the way. Program suitable for ages 7 and older.

    Activities include:

    • Decorating your own sea turtle to complete the journey
    • Dip netting in shallow water to explore the diet of sea turtle hatchlings
    • A choose-your-own-adventure migration activity
    • Discussion about hazards, hatchling survival rates and migration locations
