HCA | Loneliness & Social Isolation Symposium
Description
Through community listening sessions, the Hunter Community Alliance identified loneliness and social isolation as a key issue requiring collective action. Join us as we share our stories, reflect, and come together as community to confront this issue.
Event details:
Date: Thursday, 30 April 2026
Time: 9:30am - 11:30am
Location: The Windale Hub
Address: 20 Lake St, Windale NSW 2306
This symposium will bring together organisations across the region to deepen understanding, share insight, and explore practical ways to rebuild social connection and strengthen community life in the Hunter.
Loneliness is a felt deprivation of connection and companionship. At least one in four adults experience persistent loneliness, with serious consequences for mental and physical health. While other countries have taken national action on loneliness, Australia has not — despite the growing impact on individuals, families, and communities.
This event is free, and for any members of the community, and is a family friendly event.
